Just wanted to get some ideas of some baits you all are using and what you consider you favorite bait of all times. The bait that you use now and are still catching fish on.

I really resist answering this question but here go's. I like to think that I am versitile and can fish the fish not the lure. I quess everyone has thier favorites based on what they have been catching fish on. Over the years i have caught more bass on a spinnerbait, dble willow or indiana/colorado tandem than any other bait. When I used to fish a lot of tournamnets I would have to say my number one money bait was a 3/4 oz Hank Parker classic. I fish a lot of homemade variables of the spinnerbaits. My second bait would be the pig and jig. It catches lots of fish and big fish. It is good at any depth or speed. The third would be a Zara Spook, super spook jr. again based on catch ratio. Norris smallies love this bait in the post spawn and spotts love it in the fall. This would be closely followed by a Rogue suspended model which catches all types fish day or night year round. I especially like it at night for walleye. Fish2win

My all time favorite bait is the one that matched the conditions and puts fish in the boat at that particular time and place. I know that is a vague, but my fishing improved dramatically when I quit planning every move ahead of time and just fished what the weather, water color, time of year, baitfish, and activity level gave me. Match the baits to the conditions, not the conditions to your baits. Although I am partial to cranking, jig fishing, spinnerbaits, and topwater. But I will fish everything from a 1/16 shaky head for suspended fish to a 6 inch spoon on structure to an 8 inch swimbait on top.

Can't really make much comment on the now as I am still re-covering from getting a brand new knee just before Christmas. What I had working the last time out was a shakey head with a crawl imitation, DT10's in crawl colors, and fishing a carolina rig with brush hogs. I usually will have at least one spinnerbait tied on and on the deck. 3/8 - 1/2 for brush piles and maybe a 2nd with 3/4 - 1 oz for slow rolling deeper structure. After that it depends alot on the weather and generally what I would expect the fish to be hitting on per given day.

I am like lunkerhunter. Whatever they are hitting at the time is my favorite. I have won more money in the old days with a 3/4 oz spinnerbait than any other lure. I fish the jig a lot and try to avoid crankibaist unless thats all they will hit. Lures are tools. You dont use a screw driver to drive a nail or a hammer to drive a screw. F2W
