One of the meanest fish I have ever put my hands on. Fought until it was nearly on the bank. Then flopped in the livewill for the trip to the dock for some lights. Then it nearly broke my wrists trying to hold it. Only way I could get it to stay still was hold it upside down. Then when I would flip it over it would go crazy again.

Nice catch Stonewall. Years ago I knew another guy that had that hot hand on big fish. He was always dredgeing up 5+ fish from the depths of Cherokee. I was just a teenager but was an everyday fisherman out of the Gilmore area. He was a Coach from Pineville. His name was Bill Warfield and he had a summer home close to my folks there at Gilmores. You ever heard of the guy. He may be dead now. If not he would be close to 80. He was a real big fish guy in the day. Fish2win

Fish2win I have heard the name but I don't know him personally. I will find out if he is still around. I have had a wonderful year for big fish. I hope it means I am getting better as a fisherman. ;D This is the second year of owning a boat and really about the third year I have considered myself a bass fisherman.

Ok, I finally have a little time on my hands. I have already told Fish2win and One Limit thanks for yet another wonderful 3rd quarter prize. I even got a swimbait that resembles the ones they throw on the Bassmasters. Thanks so much! Now I did catch a 1 a little over 18" this weekend with a 12" girth. It was a nice fish, but nothing really to brag about. I caught a lot of non-keepers and LG. Fishing was a blast. I wish I could be down there as we speak. Here are the picks...good luck fishing!

thanks guys. stonewall you are pretty funny. this is a healthy but barely legal SM. i know that someone can beat it. i didn't have a flexible tape measurer so i took a piece of fishing line to measure the girth. i wanted to let it go right away instead of hauling it around in my livewell. this hickup is a rules violation 3.22 of the big fish award. so i am personally disqualifying my SM to uphold the integrity of the big fish contest. i guess i better comeback down to get another one! have fun fellas...
