Just got back from the Big "O". We did pretty good. Lot of small ones and a few big ones on shiners. Caught the small ones on Ratltraps. The highlight though was this largemouth my dad caught on a shiner. Weight was around 10lb 2oz. 25 1/2" long and 17" in diameter. What a beauty.

I fished Lake Fort in Texas back in 93 and it was awesome. We fished everyday daylight till dark and caught tons of fish. Alot of 5 - 10 lbs of fish. That is where I will live one day.

Didnt use a guide this time. Was using different forums to find out where they were biting. Bassresource.com of course. Bought shiners, whipped out the GPS and headed that direction. Only bad thing is that pontoon boat with the 50hp took us 40 minutes to get there. After that it was game on.
Ive had some friends fish lake fort before that came home with some good pics. That was my 4th trip to "O" first 3 times with a guide. Its good to go with a guide first just save up some money. Lake is still dirty from the hurricanes, did a lot of damage. Have to go a little ways to find the clear water. Its worth it though, caught that bass in 3ft of water. Thats the great thing about florida fishing.
